

Shane Womack comes from a long line of public servants. His father retired after 33 years of service as a Sergeant with LVMPD. His mother spent over a decade as a Sheriff’s dispatcher. Dozens of Shane’s uncles and cousins were, or are, active firefighters. Shane Womack is a friend, a son, a brother, a husband to Amber for 22 years, and a father to two amazing young men and one wonderful daughter.
A Career Built on Service, Leadership, and Public Safety
Shane spent almost 28 years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a merged city-and-county agency commanded by a Sheriff. He first worked in the Clark County Detention Center as a civilian employee, then served as a Police Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and retired as a Bureau Commander in 2023. From a young police officer forward, Shane worked and led uniformed patrol in some of the most violent and challenging areas of Clark County. He also served as a bicycle officer on the Las Vegas Strip and completed, led, facilitated, and directed nearly every kind of criminal investigation imaginable.
He was the lead investigator on over 250 suspicious death and homicide investigations, operated as an undercover detective, and led uniformed, clandestine, operational, and investigative units ranging from 7 personnel to over 300.
His duties included work in:
- Vice/Narcotics
- Robbery/Homicide
- Homeland Security
- Emergency Management
- Public Corruption
- Public safety responsibilities at McCarran International Airport
- And numerous other major law enforcement and public safety operations
